Worcester has established itself as a leader in cutting edge technologies such as biotechnology and the life sciences. The first major move in this direction was made in 1985 with the development of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Research Park, conceived by local business, science, academic and political leaders. Located off of Plantation Street at One Innovation Drive, the project, including its first building, BioTech One, was executed by the Worcester Business Development Corporation. -
