MedTech IGNITE:

What’s it Worth?

Pricing strategies for innovative medical devices

March 15, 2012, 8:30am-10:30am

RSVP: stamp@massmedic.com

Gateway Park, WPI, Lobby Floor
60 Prescott St, Worcester, MA

MassMEDIC’s MedTech IGNITE program will host a morning session on the practical perspective of pricing new medical technologies in the current and future healthcare marketplace.  Coffee and networking from 8:30-9am followed by a discussion from 9-10:30am.

Establishing the right price point for a new medical device is tricky business.  Aim too low and you risk undervaluing your invention and leaving money on the table.  Aim too high and you may niche your product into a tiny market.  The only certainty is that entrepreneurs must answer the pricing question far sooner than most expect as price is on the top of the mind for investors and strategic partners alike.

Seasoned marketing strategist, Amy Siegel, will lead the group through an interactive session on the process of determining pricing for medical devices from implantables to capital equipment.  Industry experts, Jeff Arnold and David Freeman will lead the group through informative “real-life” pricing stories, illustrating traditional and non-traditional approaches.

Speakers:

Amy Siegel, is currently a founder of S2N Health, where she brings over 15 years experience advising emerging medical companies on market strategies.  Amy previously held VP of strategic marketing positions at Seventh Sense Biosystems and Aspect Medical Systems.

Jeff Arnold is currently the president of Arnold Strategies LLC and is a serial entrepreneur, having raised over $140M of capital.  Jeff previously served as CEO of several life science firms including CardioFocus, Cambridge Heart, Inc., and Accelrys.

David Freeman is the executive in residence at the Institute for Pediatric Innovation as well as the president of Freeman & Associates, where he brings 20+ years of experience in strategy, marketing and branding.  David previously served as general manager and chief marketing officer at GE Healthcare and VP of marketing at both BD Biosciences and Philips Healthcare.
